August 2020 Report

As I shared last month, August is typically one of the busiest and most fruitful of the year. This typically is the time where we are serving hundreds of folks in our community through efforts to meet needs for school. We also typically are hosting a large event around this time to kick off the new school year. Both of these efforts are fruitful for us in that we pray and share the Gospel with many of the folks we serve. Well as you might expect, this month has not been the typical August where these needs are met in our community, but it has certainly kept the spirit of busyness that we normally see. Our hope is to meet some needs that have come to our attention in the last week and to do all we can to serve, love, and reach our neighbors with the Gospel.

The busy part of the month has been us working towards the purchase of the building where we currently gather. The owners of the property gave us a very short time frame at the end of July to gather all necessary items to close on a commercial purchase of this property. Bu God’s amazing grace and provision in connecting us with a local lender that helped expedite this process, we have a closing date scheduled for Thursday, August 27. We believe this to be an amazing display of God’s provision for us that we have the ability to remain in the place where we have established a presence over the last two years. While the church is not contained to a facility or defined by a building, the opportunity we have to secure a home base for our church is an enormous blessing. Thank you for praying for us and with us, and for your consistent encouragement in this journey of planting a church in OKC.

I look forward to sharing an update with you next month about how we are settling into our new home, as well as sharing some things on the horizon for continued Gospel impact and presence in our community.
