Missionary Steve Puckett
Greetings again from Norman, Oklahoma. We are continuing our efforts here to plant the type of church that, I believe will honor and glorify God. It is not easy, but I believe that we are slowly making progress.
During this month, we have increased our evangelism training and as a result we have been able to make many new contacts and experienced many professions of faith. We continue in our discipleship efforts and I believe that we are seeing fruit in that regard. Most of the professions of faith have come as a result of our apartment outreach ministry. Multiplication is taking place with over 49 presentations of the gospel outside of the four walls of the church building. Please pray that we will be able to multiply many times.
We hope to continue our apartment outreach work by starting an additional Bible study soon. Hopefully, we will be able to use the van which was donated by Sunray Baptist Church in Purcell to pick up some folks for our services.
Several groups (one from Southgate BC, Moore and one from Pleasant Hill BC, Blanchard) have been assisting Nancy in the homeless ministry to distribute many necessities to those in need.
We had two guest preachers this month – Nathan Brewer and Alan Carroll. We are so thankful for those who will share with us from the Bread of Life and we look forward to the growth of their ministries.
Words from Chris:
Preaching the gospel, the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes, is the essential work of the church to perform, along with teaching obedience, until all the world has heard. And our little flock, as small as it is, has trained 9 people to share the gospel this month! As a result, there have been 49 gospel presentations and 10 professions of faith, including eight children at Chapel Ridge Apartment, to the glory of God! This is a dramatic increase from last month, with five times as many presentations, and ten times the professions of faith. There is no natural explanation for this improvement, except that the Holy Ghost has come upon us in power, and God is beginning to “pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground…” He is beginning to pour His Spirit on the people of Norman, so let us praise Him and thank Him for willing workers in a growing harvest!
Multiplication is the key to growth, and is not only at the heart of the command of our Lord, but Paul’s encouragement to Timothy as well to “be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that thou hast heard…among many witnesses, the same commit…to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.” (2 Timothy 2:2)!
Thank you for all of your support. Come and see us when you get a chance and please – pray for us and the work here in Norman.
