Missionary Steve Puckett
Wow, the year is nearing completion and yet it seems that there is still much to do. God has given us the opportunity to share the gospel with so many and yet there are so many more that need to hear it.
This is an excerpt from Chris’s report for the month:
The old song goes like this…”Jesus loves the little children…” and it rings true! I’m glad that we’re beginning to obey the command of Jesus to “suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of god.” Luke 18:16b I praise the Lord, that He has given us the opportunity to introduce children to the Lord Jesus! I think there was at least 15 kids that were in the basketball area before bible study at Chapel Ridge last Thursday night and we’ve had the privilege to share the gospel with 6 children this month through story, scripture, and visual presentation through the Evangecube. Praise God! Let us pray that these gospel seeds will begin to take root in the hearts of these young people, who are the upcoming “New Generation”, and we will begin to see many disciples of the LORD JESUS CHRIST spiritually born unto eternal life, to the praise of His glorious grace!! Amen!
A new “babe” in Christ has already been born! Not only have we had the opportunity to minister to children, we have also had the privilege to witness our friend Alex receive a child-like faith and enter the kingdom of heaven! Hallelujah!! This brings great joy to my heart, because we’ve been praying for him for some time and we can now see a dramatic change in his heart and a hunger to learn God’s word!! What a testimony Alex has, because he was adopted from a Russian orphanage by Christian parents here in America who were faithful to sow spiritual seeds into his life, and now he has been spiritually adopted into the family of God by his Father in heaven!! I pray that we can nurture his faith well and disciple Him so that he can begin to grow strong in the Lord!
We have restarted our Evangelism training on Saturdays after a short layoff. I believe that there is a great need for our folks to be trained in Evangelism and we have started a little different approach to it. I still believe that Evangelism Explosion’s methods are among the best in the world for evangelism, but I also recognize the fact that there are other methods that are also good. I believe that the more we can expose people to training using other methods that this also will be of benefit to the Kingdom of God. Look in your toolbox at home. How many different kinds of tools do you have?
A friend and I had an opportunity to take a mission trip this month to the country of Belize. It was an invigorating experience. We had a chance to use a visual method of evangelism using the Evangecube. We found the people there to be very receptive to the gospel. We were able to witness 38 professions of faith.
Last Saturday several of us went to the mall for evangelism training and were able to engage a young mother using the Evangecube. She had previously made a profession of faith, but it was a good training experience. I believe that Nancy and Robert were both surprised at how easy it was to share the gospel. Pray for us that we will be able to continue in this training and that those being trained will be encouraged.
Thank you for all of your support. Come and see us when you get a chance and please – pray for us and the work here in Norman.
