BMAO Missionary Nathan Brewer
This past Wednesday night, we kicked off the new year of our Grace Harbor Community Groups. This is exciting for us, but more so because we officially launched a third group. We are ecstatic over this because one of our core values as a church is multiplication. We want to see disciples, leaders, groups, and churches multiplied directly out of the ministry of Grace Harbor. Two years ago this month, we started as a small group in a living room with 8 people. We now have three groups with about 25 people meeting in them, with a congregation of about 50 each Sunday. The Lord has been good to allow us to see his work in tangible ways as he has formed a group of folks passionate to see out neighborhoods reached with the Gospel. We believe now that it will not be long until we see the need to begin another community group, and are currently intentionally pouring into our next round of CG leaders who will lead and facilitate these groups. We are praying that by the end of 2020, we will have a need for 5 groups.
We look forward to gathering with our brothers and sisters next week in McAlester for the BMAO State Meeting. Our hearts are with the immediate family and church family of Bro. Jesse Spurlock and we grieve his loss. Bro. Jesse was always a great encouragement to us not only in what he said, but in how he lived in a humble, Godly, gracious manner. We will miss him, but as most of us know, he was eager to no longer live on this earth apart from Sister Leila. More so, we know how he longed to be eternally united and in the presence of his Savior!
