BMAO Missionary Nathan Brewer
We had an exciting month in July! We feel that it was a great way to wind down Summer, so to speak, and gear up for what often marks a new year for ministry in August.
We had two great mission teams visit us from Arkansas- Hopewell Baptist Church in El Dorado and First Baptist Church of Taylor. These teams came in and got to work, building off of the great work that the team from Waxahachie, Tx began in June. We pulled of another great Block Party in a neighboring park and again saw nearly 300 people come through. We saw many new faces, but we also saw many familiar faces from the event in June. Seeing familiar faces is a huge win for us- it means we are meeting people and remembering them, and it means we are becoming a familiar face to them as well. We believe God will use this past Summer to do great things in the coming months.
This month, we are taking four weeks to communicate and preach through the mission of our church. We see this as vital and necessary in order to provide some much needed clarity and direction in regards to our ministry. Throughout the month, we are adding several personal touches, such as a potluck, a membership meeting, and a night where our people will have the unique opportunity to sign up to get plugged in to one of our community groups at Grace Harbor. I am very much looking forward to the report we will give from August when the month comes to an end. We are expecting big things!
We had a great meeting a few weeks ago with Bro. Gene Hankins as he came to our new facility to visit, buy us lunch(that was fun!), and spend a couple of hours encouraging us. We are incredibly grateful for the investment, wisdom, and leadership of Bro. Gene. We are also grateful for the great churches in the BMA of Oklahoma who are generous in their support and prayers.
Pray for us over these next few months as we walk through our emphasis on the vision of this church and as we prepare to “launch” in October. More on that in coming reports!
