July was another great month for us at Grace Harbor! To kick the month off, Thomas and Courtney Mobly officially moved to Yukon from Central Arkansas. As many may know, Thomas is still working with DiscipleGuide in a pretty high level position as the Director for Church Conferences. Many of you have benefitted greatly from things like SOAR, Pastor’s Oasis, Senior Adult Conference, and the Great Escape Cruise. Thanks to Thomas being in this role for the last few years, these events have continued to be successful. As you also can imagine, Thomas stays pretty busy with these events as there are many things that happen between the lines that are vital. Having said all that, Thomas and Courtney had to complete all of their responsibilities with SOAR before actually moving. SOAR went very well, which means they were able to move in the following week to their home here.

That same week, we held our second Grace Harbor Vision Night at Hideaway Pizza. We met 5 new people at this meeting and formed a connection with a few potential team members! We spent the next couple of weeks preparing for the first ever mission team to serve with Grace Harbor. Under the leadership of their Pastor, Grant Barnett, Hopewell Baptist Church out of El Dorado, AR borough 14 students to come serve with us around OKC. We have made a few great connections with some organizations around OKC who are serving their communities very well. Because of Hopewell, we were able to partner with these groups to serve two different schools: Thelma Parks and North Highland Elementary. Each of these schools were in danger of shutting down for different reasons until some area churches and organizations stepped up to walk with them through some challenges.

Its the help of this group, we ended the week with a community event in Highland Hills Park. We connected that night with around 50 neighbors and gave away over 100 hot dogs and popsicles! We had a few intentional conversations as well as extend some invites to our next Vision Night on August 9.

We look forward to our final Vision Night, but right now are really gearing up to begin meeting with our core team of members. We are praying for a few more to join us and would love to have 25-35 people with us before we get rolling with some preview services towards the end of Fall and beginning of 2018.
